This is a Request for Quotation (RFQ) from the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) for the appointment of a service provider for the calibration and transportation of 14 Mark X breathalyzer machines. The service provider must ensure all machines are serviced, calibrated, and compliant with manufacturer requirements, issuing a calibration certificate upon completion. PRASA pays for the item within 30 days of receipt of the supplier's correct tax invoice.
The supplier warrants that the items are in accordance with PRASA's requirements, fit for the purpose for which they are intended, and will remain free from defects for a period of one year unless another period is stated in the order from acceptance of the items by PRASA.
PRASA reserves the right to award business to the highest scoring bidders unless objective criteria justify the award to another respondent. The evaluation methodology includes price (80%) and specific goals (20%).
Bidders must ensure compliance with their tax obligations and submit their unique personal identification number (PIN) issued by SARS. A valid SANAS ISO/IEC **** accreditation certificate of the service provider is a mandatory requirement.
Late deliveries or late completion of the items may be subject to a penalty if this is imposed in the order contract.

Respondents are warned that a response will be liable for disqualification should any attempt be made either directly or indirectly to canvass any SCM officers or PRASA employee in respect of this RFQ between the closing date and the date of the award of the business. Failure to provide or comply with any of the particulars may render the bid invalid.
