Tender adjudication will be based on an 80/20 preference point system, in accordance with the Msunduzi Municipality's Supply Chain Management Policy and preferential procurement regulations. Specific goals for preference points include South African Black ownership/management control (10 points), promotion of enterprises in the municipal area (5 points), and women-owned enterprises (5 points). The municipality reserves the right to accept any part or the whole of a quotation. The municipality expects businesses in the Pietermaritzburg and Midlands region to support its contract and BEE/SMME initiatives.
