Tenders are invited for the supply, delivery, and assembling of furniture for the new Copesville library. Tender documents are available from 14h00 on Friday, 8 August 2025, at the Supply Chain Management unit offices. Tenders, both hard copy and on a CD/USB flash drive, must be placed in the tender box at the Central Stores, 2 Abattoir Road, off Kershaw Road, Pietermaritzburg, ****, no later than 12h00 on Monday, 25 August 2025. The tender validity period is four months commencing from the closing date. The tender will be evaluated on an 80/20 point system. The municipality reserves the right to accept the whole or any part of a tender. Tenderers must comply with all relevant legislation, including the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Compensation for Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act, the Labour Relations Act, the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, the Income Tax Act, and the Value Added Tax Act. Additional documents, such as tax clearance certificates, CSD registration reports, and a statement of previous experience, are required. A site inspection/tender briefing meeting is not applicable to this tender. Penalties apply for late delivery. A 12-month warranty is offered on the furniture.
Tenders must be submitted in sealed envelopes and placed in the tender box located at the central stores, 2 abattoir road, offkershaw road, pietermaritzburg, ****, no later than 12h00 on Monday, 25 August 2025.
All office furniture and equipment shall be guaranteed by the manufacturer for a period of 12 months from the date of delivery.
The tender shall be evaluated on an 80/20 point system in accordance with the Msunduzi municipality's supply chain management policy incorporating preferential procurement.
Tenderers must be suitably experienced service providers.
In the event that the supplier fails to deliver the goods within the agreed delivery period, the purchaser Msunduzi municipality reserves the right to impose a penalty of **** five hundred rand per calendar day of delay, commencing from the day immediately following the agreed delivery date until the date of actual delivery.
The municipality reserves the right to inspect premises and test samples before the order is placed at the tenderers cost.
Any service provider aggrieved by decisions or actions taken by the municipality may lodge within fourteen 14 calendar days of the date of the decision or action, a written objection or complaint to the municipal manager head: supply chain management.
