The tender submission deadline is 30 April 2026 at 10:00.

For contracts valued below R50,000,000, Eskom pays within 30 days of receipt of undisputed invoices. For contracts valued above R50,000,000, Eskom pays within 60 days of receipt of undisputed invoices.

Tenderers will be ranked by applying the preferential point scoring for the 80/20 system. Eskom will add the score from pricing and specific goals together and rank the suppliers from the highest to the lowest.

Tenderers must meet eligibility criteria, submit a complete tender with commercial, financial, and technical information, and provide mandatory commercial tender returnables by the stipulated deadlines. They must also have a valid CSD number.

A non-compulsory clarification meeting will take place via Microsoft Teams on 21 April 2026 from 10:00 to 11:00.

The tender document does not indicate a requirement for sample submission.

The tenderer will notify Eskom of any clarifications required before the closing time for clarification queries, which is 10 working days before the deadline for tender submission.

The bid notice does not explicitly state a delivery deadline for proposals. However, it details maintenance shutdown periods which are planned for specific durations, such as an annual total maintenance shutdown planned for ten days, shipping maintenance shutdown planned for seven days twice a year, and that these shutdowns include weekend work and public holidays. The normal working hours are Monday to Friday from 06h00 to 18h00, with overtime considered between 18h00 and 06h00, and all day Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays.

The bid notice states that within one week of receiving a payment certificate from the service manager in terms of core clause 51. 1, the contractor provides the employer with a tax invoice in accordance with the employers procedures stated in the service information, showing the amount due for payment equal to that stated in the payment certificate. It also mentions that he invoice must correspond to the service managers assessment of the amount due to the contractor as stated in the payment certificate.

The bid notice requires the contractor to have competent personnel, specifically welders and boilermakers who are qualified as tradesmen with a red seal. Proof of these qualifications must be submitted with the bid submission and any time the contractor is called to site. The contractor is also required to submit a sample of qualifications and CVs for the supervisor who will oversee all maintenance work for tender evaluation and before each shutdown if new personnel are appointed.
