The Msunduzi Municipality is seeking an environmental consultant to draft an alien invasive plant species management plan. The plan will guide the monitoring, control, and eradication of alien invasive species within the municipality. Key requirements include identifying and mapping invasive species, assessing infestation extent, developing control methodologies, and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation. A compulsory tender briefing meeting will be held on May 5, 2026. The tender closes on May 11, 2026, at 12:00 PM. The contract period is 12 months from the date of award. Penalties will be levied for late completion.
The tender closes at 12:00 PM on Monday, 11 May 2026. The delivery of goods is to be within 12 months of receiving the letter of award.
Payment will be made by the Chief Financial Officer within thirty (30) days on receipt of a certificate of payment issued by the engineer.
The bid notice states that a warranty/defects liability period is not applicable.
The bid shall be evaluated on a two-stage evaluation system: stage one being functionality and stage two an 80/20 preference point system.
Mandatory requirements include the professional availability of a South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) registered Environmental Scientist, Biodiversity Specialist, Herbicide Specialist, and GIS Practitioner.
Penalties shall be levied at 0. 1% of the contract value per calendar day for late completion of work and submission.
A compulsory tender briefing meeting will be held on Tuesday, 05 May 2026, at 10:00 AM. Service providers will be required to present a hard copy of their tender document at the meeting to ensure the site inspection/tender briefing certificate is signed.
If samples are required in terms of the specification, such samples shall be supplied by the contractor at his/her own cost.
Any service provider aggrieved by decisions or actions taken by the municipality must lodge within fourteen (14) calendar days from the day of receipt of a regret letter, a written objection or complaint to the Municipal Manager: Supply Chain Management.
