Solar Project Tenders

Bids must be submitted by Monday, 07th September 2026, at 14:00.

The contract includes a 24-month defects liability period.

The contract will be awarded to the tenderer who scores the highest number of tender evaluation points, based on price and preference points.

Tenderers must have a CIDB contractor grading designation of 7EP or higher and attend the compulsory briefing session.

A compulsory site visit is required. Bidders must visit the permit office at least one hour prior to obtain access cards and must bring an original ID document and a reflective jacket.

Enquiries and clarification requests must be submitted by Friday, 21st August 2026, at 15:00.

Failure to comply with mandatory requirements, submitting late bids, or engaging in corrupt or fraudulent practices may lead to disqualification.

Completed bid and other returnable documents must be submitted on the document sharing and collaboration platform or portal: www. ***. *. * on or before Monday, 20 July 2026 not later than 12:00.

This tender will be evaluated in terms of the 80/20 preference points system approved preferential procurement policy of the Ehlanzeni District Municipality. The 80 points will be for price and the 20 points will be allocated for specific goals.

Tenderers must be capable and experienced in siting, drilling, equipping and commissioning solar boreholes with a CIDB grading 3ME or higher. Bidders must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD).

A compulsory briefing session will be held on Monday, 13 July 2026, 10:00 at Ehlanzeni District Municipality offices, DMC, 8 Van Niekerk Street, Sonheuwel Central, Mbombela ****.

Bidders are advised not to commit any fraudulent activities, including forgery of documents. All abuses of the supply chain management (SCM) systems may be reported to the South African Police Service (SAPS) and restricted from doing business with any public institution or organ of the state for a period not exceeding 10 years.

Tenders must be placed in the tender box not later than 11:00 on Monday, 15 June 2026.

Tenders will be evaluated and adjudicated in line with the supply chain management policy of the municipality using an 80/20 preference points system.

Only tenderers who satisfy the eligibility criteria stated in the tender data are eligible to submit tenders. Bidders must score a minimum of 70 to be considered for further evaluation. Bidders must be registered with the CIDB in an EP class of construction works grade 4EP or higher.

Tenderers attempting to influence the client regarding the awarding of the tender, after tender closure, will automatically expose their tenders to rejection.
