The City of Cape Town is seeking a supplier for branded corporate merchandise. The contract period is for 36 months. Samples must be submitted separately by the closing date and time of the tender to the Communication Department, 3rd floor, Tower Block, Civic Centre, Hertzog Boulevard, Cape Town, between 09:00 and 15:00 on weekdays. The city will order items in batches on an as-required basis, and suppliers will be expected to provide product within 30 days of the final design being approved. The tender is divided into a number of categories, and the city wishes to award each category to a single supplier and to have a standby supplier for each category too. Prospective suppliers may select one or more categories for which they want to submit proposals for. To be considered for a category, suppliers must submit proposals for all the items in a category selected. Incomplete proposals will not be considered.
The bid notice states that suppliers will be expected to provide product within 30 days of the final design being approved.
The warranty for this contract shall remain valid for six 6 months from date of delivery of the goods andor services.
The CCT will perform a risk analysis in respect of the following: a reasonableness of the financial offer b reasonableness of unit rates and prices c the tenderers ability to fulfil its obligations in terms of the tender document, that is, that the tenderer can demonstrate that heshe possesses the necessary professional and technical qualifications, professional and technical competence, financial resources, equipment and other physical facilities, managerial capability, reliability, capacity, experience, reputation, personnel to perform the contract, etc. The conclusions drawn from this risk analysis will be used by the CCT in determining the acceptability of the tender offer.
The tenderer can demonstrate that he or she possesses the professional and technical qualifications, professional and technical competence, financial resources, equipment and other physical facilities, managerial capability, reliability, experience and reputation, expertise and the personnel, to perform the contract.
The penalty for this contract shall be 5 of the value of the order in question for a period not exceeding 2 months.
The bid notice states that enderers are required to supply actual samples of the items that they wish the city to assess. not photographs or images. samples do not need to be branded. these samples must not be placed in the tender box along with the tender document, but must be submitted as follows on or before the closing date of the tender. should samples not be received, or received after the closing date and time of the tender, they will be declared late and not evaluated. samples are to be handed over to the production unit of the communication department located on the 3rd floor of the tower block, civic centre, 4 bay side. weekdays between 09: 00 and 15: 00.
