Tenders are invited for various road maintenance and construction projects, including the installation of solar streetlights. A compulsory briefing session and site visits are scheduled. Bids will be evaluated based on a 80/20 system and functionality prequalification for solar streetlights. Umzimvubu Local Municipality reserves the right not to appoint.
Tenders must be deposited in the tender box at the new Umzimvubu Local Municipality offices at Dabula Street, Sophia, Kwabhaca, Eastern Cape, 4735. The opening of the tender for solar streetlights will be at 67 Church Street, Emaxesibeni not later than 12:00 noon as per the table above.
Value for money will be the key determinant of appointment. For solar streetlights, bids will be subjected to a prequalification selection process and will be required to achieve a minimum of 70 points for functionality.
Bidders must be registered on CSD and provide confirmation of registration. For solar streetlights, a minimum of 70 points for functionality is required, with specific points allocated for company experience (40), key personnel (40), and methodology (20).
There will be compulsory site visits as per the table above, and a briefing certificate will be issued.
The document clearly states that no couriered, faxed, emailed and late tenders will be accepted, implying samples are not part of the submission method.
Failure to submit mandatory documents will lead to bids being deemed non-responsive. The municipality will not make any award to a person or persons working for the state.
