Motor Tenders

Fully completed tender documents must be deposited in the tender box at Gamagara Local Municipality's main building by not later than 10:00, 15 September 2026.

Payments shall be made by the purchaser no later than thirty 30 days after submission of an invoice, statement or claim by the supplier.

The supplier warrants that the goods supplied under the contract are new, unused, of the most recent or current models, and that they incorporate all recent improvements in design and materials. This warranty shall remain valid for twelve 12 months after the goods have been delivered to and accepted at the destination.

Bids will be evaluated on an 80/20 preference points system. Responsive bids will be evaluated based on functionality and then price and BBBEE points.

Bidders must be registered on CSD. Bidders must be registered with the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA), the Institute of Risk Management (IRMSA), and the Financial Intermediaries Association (FIA). Bidders must have professional indemnity insurance with a minimum limit of R10,000,000.

If the supplier fails to deliver any or all of the goods or to perform the services within the periods specified in the contract, the purchaser shall, without prejudice to its other remedies under the contract, deduct from the contract price, as a penalty, a sum calculated on the delivered price of the delayed goods or unperformed services.

A compulsory briefing session will be held on 18 August 2026 at 10:00 at the main office in Kathu in the municipal boardroom.

Misrepresentation of address of the business with the aim of earning points may lead to disqualification. Failure to submit documentary proof for certain requirements will be considered as submitting a nonresponsive bid.

The closing date for submission of proposals is August 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM. Bidders must ensure that bids are delivered timeously to the correct address. As a rule, if a bid is late or delivered to the incorrect address, it will not be accepted for consideration.

The tender will be evaluated in three phases: 1. Administrative compliance. 2. Functionality. 3. Price and specific goals.

Bidders must submit proof of registration on the National Treasury's Central Supplier Database (CSD). Bidders must also ensure compliance with their tax obligations and provide their unique personal identification number (PIN) issued by SARS. Failure to provide or comply with any of the above particulars may render the bid invalid.

A compulsory briefing session will be held on August 13, 2026, at 10:00 AM via Microsoft Teams.

Tenderers will be disqualified if the entity or any of its directors is listed on the register of bid defaulters. Late or incomplete bids, failure to conform to the rules or requirements contained in the tender document, proof of collusion among bidders, and noncompliance with applicable law may also result in disqualification.
