This Request for Quotation (RFQ) from the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) is for the supply and delivery of a prefabricated shipping container to the SANSA Hermanus facility. The container must be suitable for harsh polar environments, including specific structural, insulation, and electrical requirements. Suppliers may be subjected to a company vetting process as the facility is a national key point. The evaluation will be based on a combination of quality/functionality (technical capability, project delivery methodology, design quality) and price/preference points (80/20 system). Bidders must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) with a compliant tax status. The offer must be valid for 30 days from the closing date. Post-support is required. The POPi Act compliance is also noted.
The full build, supply, and delivery to SANSA Hermanus is required within 3 months of award.
Payment will be made based on the deliverables proven progress for the services rendered/goods received, and only based on invoices provided.
The contractor must provide a warranty period for workmanship and materials.
SANSA promotes the concept of best value in the award of contracts, incorporating expertise, experience, technical proposal, and organizational capacity, evaluated using the 80/20 preference points system.
To be eligible for evaluation, the bidder must submit a CSD registration summary report with a compliant tax status and a BBEEE certificate.
A bid document not filled in correctly or completely, not complying with the specification, delivered after the closing date and time, or if the supplier is not registered on the CSD or has a non-compliant tax status will lead to disqualification.
The value of this bid is estimated not to exceed R1 million all applicable taxes included.
