The Department of Water and Sanitation is seeking transport services for employees for the LSGWS Canal Failure Repair Project in the Eastern Cape. Bids are due by 11:00 on June 25, 2026. Late bids will not be accepted. The service requires daily transport of employees from various towns and villages to the construction site. Bidders must ensure vehicles are roadworthy, fit for purpose, and legally capable of carrying the required number of passengers and driver. Costs for drivers, fuel, permits, and licensing must be included in the bid price. Payment will be made monthly within 30 days of invoice approval. The evaluation criteria include mandatory requirements, administrative compliance, technical evaluation, and a preference points system (80/20) based on price and specific goals (women ownership, disability ownership, youth ownership, location of enterprise, and BBBEE status level).

Payment will be made monthly within 30 days of receipt and approval of the original tax invoice, deposited directly into the successful bidder's bank account. No cash or cheque payments will be made.

Bidders must be registered with the Transport Taxi Association and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy, in good condition, and fit for purpose. Drivers must possess valid driver's licenses and public driver permits (PDP).
If the supplier fails to deliver the service within the stipulated period, the department may deduct a penalty as described in paragraph 22 of the National Treasury General Conditions of Contract.
Failure to submit required documents, non-compliance with specifications, late bid submissions, or providing false information may lead to disqualification.
