Bidders must ensure compliance with their tax obligations. Bidders are required to submit their unique personal identification number (PIN) issued by SARS to enable the organ of state to verify the taxpayers profile and tax status. Bidders may also submit a printed TCS certificate together with the bid. In bids where unincorporated consortia joint ventures subcontractors are involved, each party must submit a separate TCS certificate PIN CSD number. Where no TCS is available but the bidder is registered on the central supplier database CSD, a CSD number must be provided. Respondents are required to self-register on national treasurys central supplier database csd which has been established to centrally administer supplier information for all organs of state and facilitate the verification of certain key supplier information. Only foreign suppliers with no local registered entity need not register on the CSD.

Failure to provide or comply with any of the above particulars may render the bid invalid. Transnet will not reimburse any respondent for any preparatory costs or other work performed in connection with its proposal, whether or not the respondent is awarded a contract. Respondents are to note that for the purpose of evaluation, a JV will be evaluated based on one consolidated B-BBEE score card. A consolidated B-BBEE status level verification certificate preference points will be awarded to a bidder for attaining the specific goals requirements in accordance with the table indicated in section 4. 1 of the specific goals claim form.

A 12-month defects liability period shall apply on completion of the project. The tenderer shall rectify any defaults in the works that may arise due to poor workmanship during the installation/construction of the works. The tenderer shall provide TNPA with the applicable manufacturer guarantee and warrantee certificates as required on spares supplied. All warranties and guarantees, where applicable, are to be submitted in writing to the project manager on completion of the project.

The tenderer must have specified skilled labor, with previous drydocking experience for the tasks to be performed.

Penalties will be incurred for major work delays by tenderer due to negligent planning (1 day equates to 1. 5% of contract value).

The tenderer shall visit the site of the proposed work and be acquainted with the nature of the environment and the conditions under which the work is to be performed. The means of access to the site, inductions, and site access certification.
