The South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA) is seeking proposals from qualified archaeologists to conduct an independent investigation into alleged disturbances of human remains near Sydneyonvaal, Northern Cape. The bid offers and proposals should be valid and open for acceptance by SAHRA for a period of 120 days from the date of submission. The final report must be submitted no later than the date provided by SAHRA.
The bid offers will be evaluated based on a phased approach: Phase One (compliance), Phase Two (prequalification criteria with a minimum of 60 points), and Phase Three (preference points on specific goals including price and special goals). SAHRA reserves the right not to award the bid to the bidder that scores the highest points.
The service provider must have expertise and understanding of archaeology, forensic anthropology, and experience working within the Northern Cape. They must hold a Master's degree or higher in archaeology or forensic anthropology, demonstrate experience in grave mapping and identification, and must not have previous history working for the mining right holder on the property. The CV of the lead investigator/archaeologist must be attached and will be used for evaluation.

Disputes that may arise between SAHRA and a bidder must be settled by means of mutual consultation, mediation with or without legal representation or, when unsuccessful, in a South African court of law.
