The bid response documents must be submitted by the stipulated closing date and time, which is 27 March 2026 at 11:00 AM. Late bids will not be accepted for consideration.

PRASA pays for the item within 30 days of receipt of the supplier's correct tax invoice.

The supplier warrants that the items are in accordance with PRASA's requirements, fit for the purpose for which they are intended, and will remain free from defects for a period of one year unless another period is stated in the order from acceptance of the items by PRASA.

PRASA reserves the right to award business to the highest scoring bidders unless objective criteria justify the award to another bidder.

Bidders must ensure compliance with their tax obligations and submit their unique personal identification number (PIN) issued by SARS. Bidders are also required to self-register on National Treasury's Central Supplier Database (CSD).

Late deliveries or late completion of the items may be subject to a penalty if this is imposed in the order contract.

Locomotive viewing is scheduled for 25 March 2026 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at PRASA Durban Station, Platform 14. Bidders who have seen the locomotive to be repaired and sign the attendance register will be considered.

The bid must be deposited in the tender box by no later than the closing date, which is 04/05/2026, at 12:00 PM.

The bid will be evaluated based on functionality (70 points) and price and MHLM specific goals (80/20 preference system), with 80 points for price and 20 for specific goals.

Bidders must be in possession of a valid wholesale license for petroleum, issued by the Department of Energy, and must submit a company profile with contactable references.
