The award is based on the highest score: transnet reserves the right to award the tender to the tenderer who scores the highest number of points overall.

CIDB grading 1ME or higher is required: respondents must have a contractor grading designation of 1me or higher class of construction work.

Tenders are ranked using the 80/20 preferential point scoring system, with price scored out of 80 points and specific goals out of 20 points. eskom will add the score from pricing and specific goals together and rank the suppliers from the highest to the lowest.

A compulsory clarification site visit is scheduled for 06 November 2026 at Hendrina Power Station. a compulsory clarification site visit with representatives of eskom meeting will take place as follows: date: 06 november 2026 time: 09 am 12: 00 pm venue: hendrina power station

Clarification queries must be submitted five working days before the tender deadline, by 12 November 2026 at 15:30. the tenderer will notify eskom of any clarifications required before the closing time for clarification queries, which is five days 05 working days before the deadline for tender submission, 12 november 2026 @15: 30

Tenderers who fail to attend the mandatory site visit will be disqualified. tenderers who fail to attend a mandatory meeting will be disqualified and their tenders will not be considered for further evaluation.

PRASA pays for the item within 30 days of receipt of the supplier's correct tax invoice. prasa pays for the item within 30 days of receipt of the suppliers correct tax invoice.

Repair works are warranted for 3 months and installation works for 12 months. repair works undertaken by the contractor will be warranted for a free maintenance period of three3 months. installation works undertaken by the contractor will be warranted for a free maintenance period of twelve 12 months.

Failure to provide mandatory returnable documents will result in disqualification. failure to provide mandatory returnable documents at the closing date and time of this rfq will result in a bidders disqualification.

Payment terms are 30 days after statement as stated in the terms and conditions.

Bids are evaluated on a points system based on weighted average score for price and preference with preference: 20 price: 80.

Bidders must provide personnel qualifications minimum diploma in electrical engineering and authorisations and provide 2 reference letters showing that the bidder has experience in 6. 6 kv and 11 kv systems.

if any of the above requirements is not submitted with the quote it will be an immediate disqualification and where a persons are listed in the register for tender defaulters and or the list of restricted suppliers, that person will automatically be disqualified.
