The closing date for bid submissions is May 22, 2026, at 12:00 PM. Bidders are advised to submit their electronic bid submissions at least a day before the closing date to prevent issues.

Transnet will utilise a methodology and criteria including administrative responsiveness, substantive responsiveness, minimum technical thresholds (80 points), and final weighted scoring based on price (80 points) and specific goals (20 points).

The supplier must be registered with CIDB for structural steel work with a minimum grading of 3SL and provide proof of experience in major steel structural work. They must also provide proof that they will use coded welders by providing 2 coded welder performance qualification certificates.

A compulsory pre-proposal site meeting will be conducted on Wednesday, May 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Transnet Port Terminal Harbour Umhlathuze Building.

Communication specific queries relating to this RFQ should be submitted onto the system and to ***@***. *. * before 14:00 on May 20, 2026.

Respondents failing to attend the compulsory RFQ briefing will be disqualified. Failure to provide mandatory returnable documents at the closing date and time will result in disqualification. Business may not be awarded to a respondent who has failed to register on the CSD.

The bid notice states that bids must be delivered by the stipulated time to the correct address, and late bids will not be accepted for consideration. The closing date is 30 April 2026 at 11:00 AM.

The bid will be evaluated in three phases: mandatory requirements, capability requirement compliance assessment, and then bidders passing all stages will be evaluated on PPPFA and specific goals using the 80/20 preference points system.

Bidders must be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD) and ensure their tax matters are in order prior to award. They must also meet mandatory requirements as outlined in the tender document.

Quotations will be evaluated on the 80/20 point scoring system, where 80 points are allocated to price and 20 points for specific goals as per PPPFA 2022.

All suppliers responding to quotations should be registered on the Central Supplier Database (CSD). Vendors must be registered with the CIDB grading 1 CE civil engineering works or higher.

A compulsory site briefing will be held on 25 March 2026 at 10:30 AM at the Devland Sewer Pump Station.
